Privacy notice

This is a draft. It has not been approved yet and may change before Gizzago launches. Questions to hello@gizzago.com.

Who we are

Gizzago makes software for lending libraries. For the details you give us on this website, we are the data controller. You can reach us at hello@gizzago.com. (The legal entity and its registered address will be added here before launch.)

What we collect on this website

  • When you write to us (early access or contact): your name, email address, your library’s name and kind if you give them, and your message. We keep these in our own database in the EU and email a copy to our team so a person can reply.
  • To stop abuse: your IP address is counted for up to a day so one address cannot send hundreds of messages. It is not stored with your message.
  • Request logs: the page you asked for, the time and whether it worked, without your IP address, kept for a short time to fix problems.

What we do not do

  • No advertising, no tracking pixels and no analytics cookies.
  • No cookies on this website at all. If you choose light or dark mode, your browser remembers it on your own device.
  • We never sell or share your details.

Fonts

The website’s fonts come from Google Fonts, so your browser asks Google for them and Google sees your IP address. We plan to serve the fonts ourselves instead.

How long we keep it

Messages are kept for up to a year after our last conversation with you, then deleted, unless your library becomes a customer.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Write to hello@gizzago.com. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).

Libraries and their members

When a library uses Gizzago, the library decides what happens to its members’ details and we look after them on its behalf. Each library has its own privacy notice on its own web address. Our data processing agreement for libraries will be published before launch.
