Accessibility statement

This is a draft. It has not been approved yet and may change before Gizzago launches. Questions to hello@gizzago.com.

Our aim

We want everyone to be able to use this website, including people who use a screen reader, a keyboard, magnification or voice control. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.

What we have done

  • Colours are checked for contrast in light and dark mode.
  • Every page works with a keyboard, has a “Skip to content” link and a clear focus outline.
  • Animation stops if your device asks for reduced motion.
  • Images that carry meaning have text descriptions.
  • The forms work without JavaScript, label every field and explain errors in words.
  • Every page is checked automatically with axe on a desktop and a phone screen size each time the software changes.

What we know is not right yet

  • The website has not been tested by disabled people or audited independently. We will do both before launch.
  • Photographs are printed in two colours until you point at them; the description is the same either way.

Tell us

If something on this website does not work for you, write to hello@gizzago.com and say which page and what happened. We aim to reply within two working days. If you are not happy with our reply, you can contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS).

Each library’s own website has its own accessibility statement. This statement was prepared on 12 October 2026.
